
There seem to be two modes today:
1. I’m lost and seeking guidance from a magic eight ball.
2. I’m being shaken like I AM the magic eight ball.
I always feel like I’m behind. Always.
I can’t figure out how to gain some respite. I’m always taking care of others.
Today’s Topic: How Do You Rest?
- cleanse
- relax
- heal
- charge
I know that, as an empath, I do too much for others. It’s a sickness.
How do I put just as much time and attention on myself? I take myself for granted, and apparently others think that gives them a free pass to do the same.
To cleanse is to remove the negative energy that you’ve accumulated throughout the day (or months if you don’t take care of yourself.)
Relaxing is still a concept that mystifies me. Is it simply not doing things that cause stress? Is it creating activities the relieve the pressure? If that’s true, movement and exercise would be relaxing? That can’t be right… that will need some work.
For a long time, healing has been a misnomer. And I’m very much of the mindset that healing is for sissies. But is it? I really need to heal from a lifetime of neglect. My family didn’t pay me much mind as I was growing up (but I’m truly thankful for that now.) My family doesn’t pay me much mind now, they assume Mom will take care of it all… and like a dumbass, I do.
Not only do I need to take the time regularly to remove the build-up, I have to find a way to remove all of the residue to open attention units I haven’t had access to.
Charge is just what it sounds like… reload your battery’s capacity. I think that occasionally, we also need to RECHARGE… maybe that’s what occurs when your battery is on empty and you shut down. What happens when you’ve been shut down for so long that you can’t tell the difference?
Considerations
- Who charges you and who drains you? Ask for help when you can and drop any dead weight immediately. Stop carrying people who won’t carry you when you need it.
- What activities come to mind when you consider cleansing, relaxing, healing, and charging?
- How can you show/teach others how to care for you (obviously after you figure it out?)
- Create a project on getting these answers this month. Look at it everyday, and poke away at finding answers.
